2011 Fish-Off Results

Special for the fish-off Shoreline Fiberglass will give $500 for the largest bass of the tournament.

Smithville Marine "Bonus Bucks" program pays cash and merchandise to fisherman who fish out of a boat purchased from Smithville Marine after Jan. 1, 2006.   Win a weekend tournament and get $500.  If the winning boat is not a qualifying boat a top 3 finish will get you $250.                      Win a Thursday evening tournament and get $100.   If the winning boat is not a qualifying boat a top 3 finish will get you $50.  

Special for the fish-off Smithville Marine will DOUBLE the Bonus Bucks!  That's $1,000 for a win and $500 for a top three finish.

The 2011 fish-off will be at 7:00 am Little Platte Ramp Saturday October 1st.   56 boats will participate on Sat. with the top 20 weights advancing to Sunday.   There will be an optional $30 big bass pot on Sat that will pay five places.   Those who advance to the second day of the tournament will have the option of a second day $20 big bass pot.  The final day will pay 15 places.   We will weigh-in at the restaurant at Little Platte.   Burgers and dogs will be provided along with drinks.   We will hand out the plaques and awards after eating.

2011 Weekend Results

	First Place and Second Big Bass: Scott Jones and Dean Dakin culled there way to a 5 fish limit @ 17 lbs 13 oz.   Third cast of the day a 6 lb      7 oz fish (second big )grabbed a rogue and anchored their bag.  Great start guys.		RANGER CUP MONEY:   Scott is the proud owner of Ranger Boat and will be rewarded an additional $200 RANGER CUP $$  incentive money.
	Second Place and Third Big Bass tie:  Roger Postelwait and Brian Novitski and 5 keepers @ 13 lbs 2.5 oz.   A nice 4 lb 12.5 oz kicker tied them for third big bass.  Since Scott and Dean forgot to get in the Calcutta Roger and Brian pocketed another nice chunk of change.		Smithville Marine "$Bonus Bucks$":  Roger purchased his boat from Smithville Marine which qualified him for their "$Bonus Bucks$" program.   He will receive an additional $250 from Smithville Marine for his second place finish.
	Third Place and Third Big Bass tie: Mike Payne and Will Abernathy brought a 12 lb 14 oz limit of fish to the scales good for third.  A 4 lb 12.5 oz bass was good enough to tie them with Roger and Brian for third big.		Fourth Place: Steve Messbarger and son Matt made a long run to catch their limit of fish.  5 fish @ 12 lbs 4.5 oz  for the father and son team.   Man this fishing for money thing is easy.
	Fifth Place:  Nick Hahlbeck and partner Todd Knaack couldn't find that fifth fish but four @ 10 lbs 12.5 oz was still good enough for a check.		Sixth Place:  Roy Butler & Anthony Scoma caught a limit @ 10 lbs 7 oz for last place money.  Nice to see Nino back in action.
	BIG BASS:  Rich Clark caught only one keeper but is was bigger than most guys 3 fish bags.   8 lbs 3 oz and big bass.  Rich's partner Jeff Reed got so excited netting the fish that he unknowingly snagged the keys with the net and threw them into the lake.		Troy and Huston Knox managed three fish @ 6 lbs 11 oz.   Troy and father Tom are the owners of the ROD SHOP designers and builders of fine custom fishing rods.  They also repair rods and replace eyes on the rods of clumsy and careless fisherman.   They are also giving away a new custom rod to the first out of the money team at each of our weekend tournaments.
	First out of the money and the recipient of a Rod Shop rod Jason Fulton and Russell Fisher caught four fish @ 10 lbs 0.5 oz.  Jason is going to catch that fifth fish when he goes back down to get his suit case that he left at the hotel		Jin caught some nice fish with the help of guide Jerry McVey.   You don't see many of these at Smithville which is one of the reasons we were fish Stockton.   A nice smallmouth probably 3.5 lbs.  Beautiful fish!!
	Jeff Grego and Tom Watson had a good day with 3 fish @ 8 lbs 15.5 oz.		Dennis Davey and Jamie Kenslow almost got the "here is your money" hand shake.   4 fish @  9 lbs 15 oz.  Still a great day of fishing.

	First Place & Second Big Bass:  Jamie Kenslow & father J.D. did it again at the first Smithville tournament.  Five fish @ 16 lbs 8.5 oz was first and calcutta.  Wait there is more, second big bass of the day at 5 lbs 5 oz.		Second Place & Third Big Bass: Will Abernathy and Mike Payne caught their limit of bass @ 16 lbs 4 oz.  A 5 lb 2.5 oz third big bass of the tournament helped anchor a nice bag of fish on a really windy day.
	Third Place & Fourth Big Bass:  Russell Fisher and Jason Fulton with five fish @ 13 lbs 2 oz and a fourth big bass at 4 lbs 13.5 oz.		Fourth Place:  Jim Terrell and Nick Hahlbeck caught a limit @ 12 lbs 14.5 oz.
	Fifth Place:  Jeff Stout needed some help holding up his fish and could have used a little help catching a few more.  Three fish 9 lbs 8.5oz and fifth place money.  Partner Jim Sloan was still looking for two more fish.		Big Bass:  "Big Bass" Wes Willett caught the lunker of the day at      5 lbs 12.5 oz.   Wes commented that he could never have caught such a fish without the help of net man Jason Rissler.
	ROD SHOP First out of the Money:  Darryl Glassinger and Bruce Black fell a little short of a paycheck with three fish @ 8 lbs 15.5 oz.   But thanks to Tom and Troy Knox of the "Rod Shop" a custom bass rod will be made for them.  A nice prize after all! 	First Place & Smithville Marine $Bonus Bucks$:  Steve Stroud and David Shaw found five bass that were a little better than the average on a great day.   They bested the rest of the field by almost two pounds with a limit of fish @ 18 lbs 6 oz.    There big fish weighed 4 lb 14 oz and had 4 friends that were very similar looking.    Steve and  David were fishing out of a boat purchased from Smithville Marine.  By winning the tournament they received an additional $500 from Smithville Marine and their $Bonus Bucks$ incentive program.
	Second Place tie: Kim and Brian Murch brought five fish to the scales like 15 other fisherman the difference was that there was an 8 lb monster in their bag.   Five fish @ 16 lbs 10.5 oz		Big Bass:  Kim was just a little excited to show off his 8 lb 0 oz big bass of the tournament.
	Second Place tie:  Mike and Jeff Bottorff had five keepers @ 16 lbs 10.5 oz and a tie with Kim and Brian for second place.   Their 4 lb 15.5 oz big bass fell just short of the big bass money.		Fourth Place:  Nick Hahlbeck and Todd Knaack with a limit of bass @ 16 lbs 6.5 oz.  A 4 lb 10 oz big bass in their bag was not quite big enough to move them up in a tight field.
	Fifth Place: Scott Jones and Dean Dakin with a limit @ 16 lbs 2.5 oz.  There big fish weighed 4 lb 3 oz.  Dean commented how much he likes netting fish for Scott.		Sixth Place:  Tom Alsop and Keith Leftridge with another limit @ 15 lbs 13 oz. Their big fish was a nice 4 lb 13 oz which left them just short on the big bass money.
	Rod Shop First out of the Money: Jeff Grego and Mike Cooper weighed a limit of bass @ 14 lbs 14 oz.   They will receive a new custom rod from Tom and Troy at the Rod Shop.		Second Big Bass:  Mike Payne and Will Abernathy are on a big bass role this spring with another one to their string.   Five fish @ 15 lbs was just short of a check but a 6 lbs 9 oz  full figured bass helped eased the pain with a little big bass money.
	Third Big Bass:  Jamie Kenslow with the help of his father J.D. caught three fish @ 10 lbs 6.5 ozs.  Not enough for a place but a 5 lb 4.5 oz fish did get them in the big bass paycheck line.		Fourth Big Bass:  Jason Fulton and Russell Fisher seem to be stuck on fourth big bass of the tournament but at least it gained a little weight from last week.  Five fish @ 15 lbs 6 oz was seventh place bag but a 5 lb big fish was just enough for a big bass check.
	Layton Strong and Jed Hawkins with a nice limit of fish @ 13 lbs 2.5 oz. Unfortunately not even close on a day when a 15 lb string of fish didn't get a check.   Nice effort guys.

	First Place and Third Big Bass:  Dave Letourneau and partner Butch Lansing (who is photo shy) caught the largest limit of the day @ 13 lbs 14.5 oz.  Their anchor fish weighed 4 lbs 6.5 oz helped put them over the top and additional cash for third big of the day.		Second Place and Smithville Marine $Bonus Bucks$:  Jin Nugyen and Jerry McVey put a limit in the boat early but didn't quite have the kicker they needed for a first place finish.  A top 3 finish from a boat purchased from Smithville Marine added an additional $250 to their winnings.
	Third Place:  Jeff Stout and Jim Sloan with their limit @ 12 lbs 4 oz.		Fourth Place:  Dave Brown and Bruce Black with five nice keeper @ 11 lbs 12.5 oz.
	Fifth Place:  Terry Bright and Steve Fogerty and five fish @ 10 lbs 14 oz.   For a mid May tournament these people sure look like they are dressed for March.	no photo available	Sixth Place: Andy Bissett and Jake Catherell caught only four fish but they weighed 10 lbs 13.5 oz.
Wes Willett & Bobby Carlton first out Rod Shop	Rod Shop First Out of the Money:   Wes Willett and Bobby Carlton caught a limit of bass @ 10 lbs 9.5 oz and just missed a paycheck.  They won't go home empty handed though thanks to Tom and Troy Knox of the Rod Shop.  A new custom made rod made for them will improve their catch in the next tourn. I'm sure.		First Big Bass:  Mike and Jeff Bottorff with the big bass of the day @ 5 lbs 10.5 oz.
	Second Big Bass:  Bill and Angelo Barsotti with a nice 5 lb 7 oz bass that got them second big bass money.		Fourth Big Bass:  Tom Alsop and Keith Leftridge caught two fish @ 6 lbs 7.5 oz.   Their big fish weighed 4 lbs 3.5 oz and was fourth big of the day.

	First Place, Third Big Bass, Smithville Marine $Bonus Bucks$ and Ranger Cup:  Keith Leftridge and Tom Alsop cashed in with a limit of bass that weighed 16 lbs 1 oz.  Their big fish weighed 5 lbs 10 oz and was third big for the day.   Keith will also cash in on Ranger Cup money, $250, for fishing out of his new Ranger Boat purchased from Smithville Marine.  Smithville Marine will then kick in an additional $500 $Bonus Bucks$ for winning a Burton's weekend tournament out of a boat purchased from them.
	Second Place:  E.W. Martin and Dave Letourneau with a great limit of bass @ 15 lbs 11 oz.  Just a few ounces shy of the win.  But a great effort none the less.		Third Place and Second Big Bass:  David Allen told partner Jim McKowen that there was not room in the picture for all three of them so only David and the second big bass of the day @ 5 lbs 13.5 oz.  This fish anchored their 14 lb 11.5 oz bag which was good enough for third place.
	Fourth Place:  George Moreland and Bob Kitterman pooled their vast knowledge of the lake to come up with a limit of bass that weighed 14 lbs 6 oz.		Fifth Place tie:  Rick Wilson and Bill Jones caught their five fish limit @ 12 lbs 15 oz and tied James and Studer for the last two money places in the tournament.
	Sixth Place tie:  I had to help Pete show off his five fish limit @ 12 lbs 15 oz which tied Wilson and Jones for fifth and sixth place.  Greg James was somewhere in the parking lot bragging about his fish catching powers.		Big Bass: Jim and Jeff only caught two fish on the day but one of them weighed in @ 6 lbs 4.5 oz which was good enough for big bass of the tournament.
	Fourth Big Bass: Jason and Russell just missed the paycheck line with a three fish bag @ 10 lbs 2 oz.   Their big fish weighed 5 lbs 6.5 oz and took last place big bass money.		Rod Shop Rod:  Mark Malone wanted to be in a picture so Steve and Matt Messbarger let him help hold their five fish limit @ 10 lbs 3.5 oz which was good enough to get them a new custom rod from Tom and Troy Knox of the Rod Shop.

	First Place, Smithville Marine $Bonus Bucks$, and Stratos 2X money:  Joe Dorcy and Dene White ignored the heat and landed a four fish limit of bass @ 14 lbs 5.5 oz to take the win on an extremely hot Truman Lake.  With a big fish @ 4 lbs 7.5 oz and three others not far behind they pulled off the win by just over 1 oz.   Joe was fish out of a new Stratos 201 evolution he purchased from Smithville Marine which qualified him for Smithville Marine $Bonus Bucks$, and Stratos 2X money.   His incentives included an additional $500 from Smithville Marine for purchasing his boat from them, and an additional $900 from Stratos boats.
	Second Place and Fourth Big Bass: Larry Jones and Steve Fowler had a productive day with a four fish limit @ 14 lbs 4 oz.  Their big fish weighed in @ 4 lbs 10 oz which was the fourth big of the tournament.		Third Place and Third Big Bass:  Dave Peacock and Terry McDowell brought four fish to the scales @  12 lbs 7.5 oz.   Their big fish weighed 4 lbs 10.5 oz and added to their winning by being third big of the day.
	Fourth Place and Big Bass: Tom Alsop and Keith Leftridge waited till the end of the day to catch their final keeper which turned out to be the big bass of the tournament.  5 lbs 7 oz and enough weight to bring their four fish limit to 12 lbs 5.5 oz.		Fifth Place:  Roger Postelwait and Brian Novitski had to fight the heat, boat troubles and the fish and still caught their limit of bass @ 12 lbs 2.5 oz.  Their big fish weighed 4 lbs 9.5 oz just 1/2 oz from big bass money.
	Sixth Place:  Sloan and Stout caught a nice limit @ 10 lbs 7.5 oz for the last place in the paycheck line.		Rod Shop Rod:   Bryce and Scott came up a little short for the paycheck line with four fish @ 10 lbs 6 oz but didn't walk away empty handed.   Tom and Troy Knox of the "Rod Shop" are going to build a custom rod that they can share. ha ha
	Second Big Bass: George Moreland with second big of the tournament @ 4 lbs 12 oz, the anchor in a four fish 9 lb 12 oz limit of fish.  Camera shy Bob Kitterman, George's net man was crankin the air the the truck to cool them both down for the ride home.

	First Place:  Dave Letourneau and Butch Lansing showed up with a four fish bag @ 9 lbs 2.5 oz.  Not great for a full day of fishing but better than anyone else could do.  Butch couldn't make the photo so I had to help Dave with the fish.		Second Place and Big Bass: Jerry McVey and Jin Nguyen caught four fish @ 8 lbs 8.5 oz.  Their big fish weighed in @ 4 lbs 10.5 oz and was the biggest fish of the day.
	Third place and Second Big Bass:  Jason Fulton and Russell Fisher only managed three fish @ 8 lbs 2 oz but one of those was a 4 lb 7 oz second big bass of the day.		:Smithville Marine $Bonus Bucks$:  Jerry was fishing out of a boat purchased from Smithville Marine so will receive an additional $250 $bonus bucks$ from Smithville marine for his top three finish.
	Fourth Place: Jed Hawkins and Layton Strong were one of the three teams to manage a four fish day.  At 7 lbs 10.5 oz a nice fourth place finish.		Fifth Place and Third Big Bass: Joe and Joe decided to give the fish the morning off and wait till afternoon to catch their fish.  You don't have to carry them around all day and take a chance on a fish dying.  Two fish @ 6 lbs 12 oz and a 4 lb 1.5 oz third big was a great afternoon.
	Rod Shop first out$$: J.D. and Jamie with three fish @  6 lbs 9.5 oz and just short of a payday.   They won't go home empty handed though as Tom and Troy Knox of the "Rod Shop" will make them a custom rod so they can catch more fish and finish in the money.		Fourth Big Bass:  Matt Messbarger with the fourth big fish of the day.  Their only fish but a nice 3 lb 11 oz which was good enough for a fourth place big bass check.

	Day one leaders Nick and Todd bring in the big bag of the tournament @ 16 lbs 4 oz. Their anchor fish in that bag weighed 5 lbs 0.5 oz and would hold up for big bass of the tournament.		George and Bob also managed a limit of fish @ 13 lbs 7.5 oz.   Not far behind but lots of work yet to do.
	One of the most consistent fisherman on the lake this year Jamie Kenslow and Phil Wolf with a 13 lb limit of bass.		Jin and Dene the only team to weigh-in a limit of fish each day with their day one limit @ 12 lbs 1.5 oz.
	Joe Dorcy Sr. and Jr.  only caught four keepers but they were four nice fish @ 11 lbs 11.5 oz.		David Allen and Jim McKown with four fish @ 11 lbs 5 oz.  There big fish weighed in at 4 lbs 10 oz and tied for second big of the day and and would hold up for fourth big of the tournament.
	Wes Willett and Phil Latier managed a limit of fish @ 10 lbs 4 oz.		Dave Biscari with a nice 4 lb 10 oz tie for second big of the day, one of he and partner Sterling Scotts  three fish 8 lb bag.
	Jake and Andy with four fish @ 9 lbs 3.5 oz. and ninth place after day one.		Terry and Dave kept their hopes alive with four fish @ 8 lbs 14.5 oz.

	First Place:     Bob Kitterman and George Moreland brought four fish to the scales on day two weighing 9 lbs 7 oz.       It was just enough to edge Jamie and Phil by 1.5 ozs.    Their nine fish two day total weight of 22 lbs 14.5 oz. made for a great payday.  Bobs new Ranger Z-520, which he purchased from Smithville Marine, qualified him for the Smithville Marine $Bonus Bucks$, and Ranger Cup incentive programs.   $500 from Smithville Marine and $200 from Ranger added a nice chunk of change to he and Georges winnings.
	Second place and second Big Bass: Jamie Kenslow and Phil Wolf brought four fish to the day two weigh-in.   9 lbs 15 oz of fish with a 4 lb 14 oz bass which tied for second big of the day and of the tournament.   A two day total weight of 22 lbs 13 oz and another solid tournament for Jamie.		Third Place:  Dene White and Jin Nguyen with a day two limit of fish @ 9 lbs 15 oz.  The only ten fish two day bag but just a little short on the weight end.  22 lbs 0.5 oz and a third place finish.
	Fourth Place:  Harry Carr and Beetle Bailey came back strong on day two with the big bag of the day @ 15 lbs 8 oz.  Eight fish and a two day total weight of 21 lbs 15.5 oz.		Fifth Place:  Joe Dorcy Sr and Joe Dorcy Jr. remained consistent with a second day weight of 10 lbs 1.5 oz for four fish.   A two day eight fish total wt. of 21 lbs 13 oz.
	Sixth Place:  Terry and Dave caught a second day four fish bag that weighed 10 lbs 3.5 oz and brought their two day total to 19 lbs 2 oz.		The "Rod Shop" First Place out of the Money:  Jake and Andy caught three fish on day two weighing 7 lbs 7 oz.   A two day total of 16 lbs 10.5 oz wasn't quite good enough for a paycheck but a nice new custom rod from Tom and Troy Knox of the Rod Shop should help ease the pain.
	First Big Bass:  Nick and Todd's big bass ( 5 lbs 0.5 oz) on day one was big enough to hold on to the big bass check.		Second Big Bass: A tie for second big fish of the tournament and day two @ 4 lbs 14 oz.  Dave and Sterling had the big bite going they just needed more of them.
	Fourth Big Bass: David Allen and Jim McKown's firs day 4 lb 10 oz fish held up for a fourth big of the tournament.
